9-Day Kyrgyzstan Tour: Osh, Arslanbob, Kozho-Kelen & Mountain Lakes

Join us on an unforgettable 9-day tour of Kyrgyzstan, exploring the ancient city of Osh and the spectacular natural landscapes of southern Kyrgyzstan. This tour is perfect for travelers who want to discover not only the main attractions of Kyrgyzstan but also hidden natural gems that are rarely included in standard tourist itineraries.

In Osh, we will visit the famous Sulaiman-Too Sacred Mountain, explore the colorful Eastern Bazaar, and taste traditional Kyrgyz cuisine, including delicious tandoor samsa and refreshing chalap.

Our journey continues to the picturesque Kozho-Kelen Valley, where we will discover caves, waterfalls, and a sacred grotto. The route takes us along scenic mountain roads, through impressive mountain passes and gorges, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Kyrgyzstan.

One of the highlights of the tour is Arslanbob, home to the famous ancient walnut forests of Kyrgyzstan. The forests are rich in walnuts, pistachios, almonds, and many other plant species. We will enjoy a peaceful walk through the forest and discover one of the most beautiful natural areas in the country.

For adventure lovers, the tour includes trekking to mountain lakes in Kyrgyzstan. Each lake has its own name, history, and unique characteristics. Hiking through the mountains allows us to experience the pristine nature of Kyrgyzstan away from the usual tourist routes.

We will also visit the spectacular Suusamyr Valley, an area that was once part of ancient caravan routes. Surrounded by majestic mountains and vast alpine landscapes, Suusamyr offers a chance to experience traditional Kyrgyz culture. Here, we will taste kumis (fermented mare’s milk) and the traditional Kyrgyz dish beshbarmak.

Tour itinerary

A day-by-day route with timings, activities, and important details for every stage.

Day 1Osh City Tour

Arrival at Osh Airport and transfer to the hotel. Check-in and some time to relax before beginning our city tour of Osh.

We will visit the local rice fields, where you will have the opportunity to learn how and where rice is grown. The program also includes a sightseeing tour of Sulaiman-Too Sacred Mountain and a visit to the local markets. In the evening, we will enjoy dinner at a traditional Kyrgyz restaurant before returning to the hotel.

Day 2Osh – Uzgen – Arslanbob

After breakfast, we will travel from Osh to the unique Arslanbob walnut forest, one of the most beautiful natural destinations in southern Kyrgyzstan. Along the way, we will stop in Uzgen, the ancient capital of the Karakhanid state.

Here, you will have the opportunity to discover the rich history of the region, visit the medieval architectural complex, explore the local bazaar, and enjoy the picturesque surroundings.

In the afternoon, we will continue to Arslanbob. Upon arrival, we will check in with a welcoming local family, experience traditional Kyrgyz hospitality, and enjoy a delicious dinner prepared with fresh local ingredients.

Day 3Arslanbob – Sary-Chelek

After breakfast, we will explore the magnificent Arslanbob walnut forest, one of the natural treasures of southern Kyrgyzstan. We will take a short hike through the forest to a picturesque waterfall and a scenic viewpoint offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

You will also have the opportunity to taste local products prepared according to traditional recipes and experience the authentic flavors of Kyrgyz cuisine.

After lunch, we will travel to the peaceful village of Arkyt, located near the Sary-Chelek area, where we will check in at a cozy guesthouse. In the evening, enjoy a delicious local dinner and free time to relax, take a walk, and enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the surrounding nature.

Day 4Sary-Chelek

This day is dedicated entirely to relaxing and exploring the beautiful Sary-Chelek Nature Reserve. After breakfast, we will travel to Sary-Chelek Lake, take a peaceful walk along its shores, and have plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and take photos.

We will also go on a short trek to several picturesque mountain lakes located within the reserve. Surrounded by forests and mountains, this is a perfect opportunity to enjoy the pristine nature and peaceful atmosphere of Sary-Chelek.

After the hike, we will return to the guesthouse for dinner and free time to relax.

Day 5Sary-Chelek – Suusamyr Valley

After breakfast, we will leave Sary-Chelek and travel towards the spectacular Suusamyr Valley. Along the way, we will make several scenic stops to enjoy the landscapes and discover some of the most impressive places in central Kyrgyzstan.

Our first stop will be near the Kurpsai Hydroelectric Power Plant, followed by a visit to the Toktogul Reservoir, where we will enjoy a short walk and take in the panoramic views.

We will then continue through the beautiful Chychkan Gorge, surrounded by mountains, forests, and dramatic landscapes. After a scenic drive, we will arrive in the wide and picturesque Suusamyr Valley.

At the Baitur Resort, we will have the opportunity to taste traditional Kyrgyz kumis (fermented mare’s milk) and learn more about local traditions. In the evening, we will enjoy dinner and have free time to relax and explore the surroundings.

Day 6Suusamyr Valley – Song-Kul

After breakfast, we will continue our journey to the spectacular Song-Kul Lake, one of the most beautiful high-altitude lakes in Kyrgyzstan. Our route will take us through the mountain village of Kojomkul and over the impressive Kara-Keche Pass.

Along the way, we will stop at scenic viewpoints overlooking the Kara-Keche coal mine and the surrounding mountains. We will also visit the Kökömeren River, where we can take a relaxing walk and enjoy the pristine mountain scenery.

Upon arrival at Song-Kul, we will stay at the cozy Ulush Yurts eco-ethno yurt camp, where traditional Kyrgyz hospitality is combined with comfortable accommodation. In the evening, enjoy a delicious local dinner and free time to relax in the peaceful surroundings of the high mountains. As night falls, you can admire the spectacular starry sky above Song-Kul.

Day 7Song-Kul – Chon-Kemin

After breakfast, we will enjoy a horseback ride along the shores of Song-Kul Lake, surrounded by the spectacular landscapes of the Kyrgyz highlands.

We will then depart towards the southern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake, descending from Song-Kul through the scenic 33 Parrots Pass. Along the way, we will take a short walk to the picturesque 33 Parrots Waterfall and enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery.

Our journey will continue to the impressive Ak-Sai Canyon, located on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul. Here, we will have time to explore the canyon, take photographs, and enjoy the dramatic landscapes of the region.

In the evening, we will continue to Chon-Kemin Valley, where we will arrive at our camp and check in. After dinner, you will have free time to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

After returning to the guesthouse, we will have lunch before continuing our journey to Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. Upon arrival, we will check in at a comfortable hotel and have some time to relax.

In the evening, we will gather for a farewell dinner and celebration, enjoying a warm and friendly atmosphere and sharing the memories of our journey through Kyrgyzstan.

Day 9Bishkek City Tour & Ala-Archa National Park

After breakfast, we will begin a sightseeing tour of Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. We will explore the city's main landmarks, discover its history and culture, and visit a colorful Eastern bazaar where you can experience the local atmosphere and find traditional products and souvenirs.

After lunch at a traditional Kyrgyz restaurant, we will leave the city and head to the spectacular Ala-Archa National Park, located in the mountains just outside Bishkek. We will take a relaxing walk through the park, enjoy the fresh mountain air, and admire the breathtaking scenery of the Ala-Archa Gorge.

Depending on the weather, we will enjoy dinner outdoors surrounded by nature before returning to Bishkek and checking in at the hotel.
