On the heels of nomads

Tour overview

Have you ever been to a country that is 90% mountainous, with over 40,000 rivers and over 2,000 lakes? Or maybe you have been lucky enough to visit a region where you can find almost all the natural belts characteristic of the northern hemisphere of the planet: the blue smooth surface of lakes, vast mountains, sometimes overgrown with forests, sometimes deserted. Huge masses of bare rock. And nearby - blooming high-mountain meadows, cold mountain streams. And above there is the amazing sight of glaciers, not melting under the hot Asian sun. Kyrgyzstan is the country of amazing contrasts. This state is located in the northeast of Central Asia. The Republic lies between the two mountain systems - the Tien Shan in the north and Pamir-Alai in the southwest. All of its territory lies above 400 m above sea level, more than half of it - at altitudes between 1,000 and 3,000 m, and one third of it goes beyond the 3,000 m mark. It is this wide range of altitudes that determines the unique natural wealth of Kyrgyzstan, and the mountain snows and glaciers give life to countless rivers carrying water to the valleys. The people of Kyrgyzstan live quietly and peacefully, and the economy is predominantly the way their ancestors did many centuries ago. The country still retains its original flavor: there are no overcrowded megacities and crowds of tourists, and a trip here will be a memorable and full of impressions adventure. Kyrgyzstan cherishes its traditions, unique by the standards of the modern world. Here they play goat-herding, blow on children and shopkeepers with smoky juniper from the evil eye, and the yurt table is seated according to a clear system.
