Around Issyk-Kul

Tour overview

Have you ever been to a country that is 90% mountainous, with over 40,000 rivers and over 2,000 lakes? Or maybe you have been lucky enough to visit a region where you can find almost all the natural belts characteristic of the northern hemisphere of the planet: the blue smooth surface of the lakes, the expanses of mountains, sometimes overgrown with forests, sometimes deserted. Huge masses of bare rock... And nearby - blooming high-mountain meadows, cold mountain streams. And above there is the amazing sight of glaciers, not melting under the hot Asian sun. Kyrgyzstan is the country of amazing contrasts. This state is located in the north-east of Central Asia. The Republic lies between the two mountain systems - the Tien Shan in the north and Pamir-Alai in the southwest. All of its territory lies above 400 m above sea level, more than half of it - at altitudes between 1,000 and 3,000 m, and one third of it goes beyond the 3,000 m mark. It is this wide range of altitudes that determines the unique natural wealth of Kyrgyzstan, and the mountain snows and glaciers give life to countless rivers carrying water to the valleys. The people of Kyrgyzstan live quietly and peacefully, and the economy is predominantly the way their ancestors did many centuries ago. The country still retains its original flavor: there are no overcrowded megacities and crowds of tourists, and a trip here will be a memorable and full of impressions adventure. Kyrgyzstan cherishes its traditions, unique by the standards of the modern world. Here they play goat-herding, blow on children and shopkeepers with smoky juniper from the evil eye, and the yurt table is seated according to a clear system.

1 day. Bishkek-Karakol

Route:
In the city you will meet your guide and we will go with you to Karakol. On the way breakfast in Boom Gorge. Next we will drive to Karakol along the southern shore of Issyk-Kul. Here on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul is still more peaceful and quiet compared to the developed resort area of the northern shore. Along the way we will visit such interesting places as Fairy Tale Canyon. The canyon is a true natural monument, but as a natural wonder. It is shrouded in legends and myths. To visit the canyon it is extremely important to choose dry weather, without the slightest precipitation. The rocks of the canyon, consisting of red clay and sandstone, become viscous and absolutely impassable when wet. The soils here are susceptible to the elements, and after a downpour or a strong wind, the landscape changes dramatically each time. Having come to the canyon more than once, it is difficult to see the same picture twice. Our next point will be Barskoon Canyon. On the road through Barskoon Canyon there are unusual monuments - a Soviet truck on a platform and a bust of the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, who rested on the southern shore of Issyk Kul after his flight into space. We will visit two amazingly beautiful waterfalls "Manas Bowl" and "Tears of Bars". Our journey will not end at visiting the waterfalls, further on you will make a trip to no less interesting gorge, to the valley of red seven bulls and the rock of the broken heart called Jeti-Oguz. This gorge, is considered one of the best hikes. We will have an easy walk along the river and on the panorama, where you will see the famous "Seven Bulls" and "Broken Heart" . The name is associated with an unusual legend about the love of a girl and a guy our guide will tell you about. After walking around the area and taking great shots for Instagram, at the foot of the rocks a delicious hot dinner will be waiting for us. After refreshing ourselves we will drive to Karakol. On arrival in Karakol we will check-in at the hotel, go to the hot springs and have some free time and sleep.

2 day. Karakol-Bishkek
#

Route:
In the morning after breakfast we will be transferred to the city of Cholpon-Ata. But before we move we will have a small city tour of Karakol. We will visit Holy Trinity Cathedral, Dungan Mosque and Przewalski Museum. N. M. Przhevalsky's museum, monument and grave are situated 9 km to the north of the town, not far from the pier in the Karakol bay among the park. It is located on the highest point of the eastern part of the Issyk-Kul coast. Near the monument is a large stone slab, under which the grave of the traveler itself is located. It is decorated with a flower garden designed by General Bilderling, and the sculptures on the perimeter are made by Academician I. N. Schroeder. At the end of the sightseeing tour we will have lunch and a tasting of the famous Karakol Ashlam-Fu. On the way we will visit Semenov Gorge and Kyrchyn Jailoo where the World Nomadic Games were held. We will walk along the jailoo and drive out through Grigoryev gorge, where we can taste the mountain river trout (in season). Leaving the gorge we head towards the open-air museum. On the area from east to west of 4 kilometers in length and 0.6-2 kilometers in width you can see tens of thousands of stones (boulders) brought out of the mountain gorges of Kungei Ala-Too ridge by the mudflows. The stones constitute both solid masses of clusters of considerable size and small clusters. The surface of the boulders under the influence of sunlight for many thousands of years was covered by "desert tan" - patina of shiny black and brown colors with different shades. The tan stones served as a kind of "canvas" for the ancient painters. The drawings were carved with tools of metal or hard stone on the tan surface of the boulders. At the end of the tour we will be transferred to Bishkek.
